Hello spring! It’s been a bumpy and sunny and rainy and snowy, yes, even snowy ride so far. But I’m so happy that you are here now.
Philly’s Largest Trunk Show: Is a gonna be HUGE! The Philadelphia City Paper is sponsoring a great big Trunk Show event with over 150 vendors like myself selling handmade crafts and artwork, as well as food, bands, and drinks. Yes! Cocktails! Outside in the lovely Philly spring. The Trunk show will be on Saturday 5/16 so come on out!

ROMG! And yesh, that is pronounced “Row My God!” It really is. Exciting month March, and that deserves a ROMG!
Flatstock & SXSW: Is upon us! The first Flatstock of 2009 is happening during the giant music festival SXSW in Austin, Texas next week. We’ve got tons of new work debuting and after a long cold winter? We will be so there, ready to hang, talk, and fork over posters and prints in trade for cash. Or credit cards. 
Come say hi! Flatstock is in the convention center right smack in the midst of the music madness from Thursday – Sunday, a extra day this year. For more info about location and the list of artists, click on some links silly.
Independent Record Store Day Show: Show your awesome on Independent Record Store Day on Saturday April 18, 2009. Independent Record Store Day, Leia Bell & Chuck Keppler have organized another great print exchange show where arists design and print an image based on a favorite song lyric, and better this particular print show will be up for viewing at 3 different indie record stores around the country: Signed & Numbered / Slowtrain Records in Salt Lake City, Size Records in Oklahoma City AND 52.5 Records in Charleston, SC. My print. “He Likes To Read Books Written For Girls” for this show is here and based on the Camera Obscura song “Books For Girls”. Available soon!

Shorty month! Coming and going.
Since lots of bands don’t tour much in the winter, this is the quietest time of year for poster and band work. Which is a really nice way to get recharged and gather my thoughts creatively. However, it’s still been busy around these parts, and that’s always nice. I worked on a few book cover/jacket design comps, sent out final files for yet another couple of new books about posters and poster artists that are to come out later this year, and kept busy with orders and emails from old, new, and prospective clients. A few prints are almost sold out too, so thank you very much. That’s great and it means I’ll be working on s0me new prints and posters.
One of the newer clients that I am crazy excited about is The Fillmore & Big Picture Design. Yup, that Fillmore! My first poster for them is for Brett Dennen and Angus & Julia Stone, details below. Another is my favorite band that you really need to hear, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, aka SSLYBY, details also below.
My gallery show at Bluebottle Art Gallery & Store in Seattle, WA has gone really well and is up for just a few more days. If you haven’t been able to stop by please do! And you can always visit the webstore run by Bluebottle that has many of their current show prints up and available for sale.
Details about a new show t0 celebrate Independent Record Store Day (April 18, 2009) will be coming soon as well, with a new print just for that show too.
All in all? Lil February has been whizzing by. Hope that you’ve been having fun too.

“Short & Sweet”: What what? “Short & Sweet” is my very first solo gallery show and it’s happening in the sweet & short month of February. To borrow from the esteemed Kool-Aid Man: “Ooooh Yeah!” Brought to you by the good folks at Bluebottle Art gallery in Seattle, WA my show will run for the entire month of February, that’s the 1st – 28th. A new print, “Night Birds” will be making it’s public debut there as well, so be nice, it’s her first rodeo cowboys. So fresh, it’s not even printed yet. (Printing ‘em tomorrow, this is up to the minute news here!) More info here.
“All The Presidents Men”: Is a great group show and print exchange based around the Presidents of the United States put together by my friend and fellow screenprinter Leia Bell at her rad Signed & Numbered Gallery in Salt Lake City, UT. Poolga.com is a very nifty site with tons of cool (no, really) wallpapers for iPhones and iPod Touches. If you don’t believe me, go look for yourself. They’ve culled quite a fantastic collection of illustrators & designers for their collection and I have 2 designs on their site waiting to be your new “first thing you see when you make a phone call or take a photo” image. “Jolly Good”! I am also in this super cool art show in Seattle, WA at the Blue Bottle Art Gallery & Store. This show features over 30 artists showing screenprinted art prints. The show is a “cash & carry” style show, if you see something that you like, BOOM! It’s yours right there and then Holmes.
“Jolly Good” runs from December 1st, 2008 to December 31st, 2008 and the Blue Bottle Art Gallery & Store is located at 415 East Pine Street, Seattle, WA. For more details see my blog entry here.

Awesome cool Custom Toy show featuring over 30 artists taking a blank Jamungo BUD and transforming them into fantastical one-of-a-kind-pieces. The show will open on October 24, 2008 and run through December 23, 2008 at Hero Design Studio in Buffalo NY. My piece is a hand painted & accessorized Tatsuta-Hime, the Shinto Goddess of Autumn.
